Treatment with donor sperm

At Think Fertility, our donor teams is committed to helping our patients access donor sperm and making the process as simple as possible.

Type of sperm donors

Sperm donors can be “known” or “unknown”.

Known sperm donors can be a brother, uncle or friend who is willing to donate his sperm and help the couple to conceive a child.  The known sperm donor will need to go through the medical and genetic tests that an unknown donor is required to, in order to ensure sperm health and quality. The sperm donor and the couple also need to contact with a reproductive lawyer to make sure everyone’s reproductive rights are covered.

If you’re using an unknown donor from a sperm bank, you can look through the list of Think Fertility collaborated sperm banks for possible donors.

What fertility treatment is involved if I use sperm donor?

Treatment will depend on the reason of using donor sperm, female partner’s age, fertility status and number of children you want to have. Sperm donor can be used in:

  • Intrauterine insemination IUI
  • In Vitro fertilization
  • Intracytoplasmic sperm injection ICSI
