Mild IVF

How does Mild IVF work?

Conventional IVF typically uses high doses of injectable medication to stimulate as many eggs as possible in the hope that some of these eggs will produce normal embryos. The rationale for this approach assumes that women will respond well to IVF medications and subsequently produce many eggs that will provide high success rates. However, many women especially those with advanced age or decreased ovarian reserve may not respond to injectable medication well, and thus produce a limited number of eggs or poor-quality embryos under this treatment.

Mild IVF uses a different approach to enable growth of the most potential eggs which can be used to create high-quality embryos. It uses oral medications and lower doses of injectable IVF medication to mobilize your endogenous hormones to achieve good quality eggs and embryos. It requires less injections, avoids potential negative impact or side effects of high dose IVF medications, saves your expenses on medications, and ultimately delivers better or comparable outcomes as conventional IVF.

Who will benefit from Mild IVF?

You may be a good candidate to use mild IVF if you belong to the following groups:

 – Low egg reserve

 – Advanced age
 – Prior poor response to conventional IVF
 – Prior failed conventional IVF

 – low AMH PCOS, which is associated with high risk of OHSS during conventional IVF treatment.

 – Normal egg reserve and want to reduce the physical, emotional, and financial burden associated with conventional IVF.

Mild IVF requires specialist medical expertise and a laboratory that is committed to this type of approach – and we are a dedicated Mild and Natural IVF clinic available to provide you with the best chance of success.
